From both a business and technical perspective, the system is highly innovative. The list of products supported by the system can be maintained by the business. The product lines, products, endorsements, items insured, rates, fees and taxes are all maintained via the Product Management and Rating Engine systems. This allows SGI to add new products and services or change rates faster than anyone else in the Industry.
The sophisticated usage of data allows for a high percentage of automated renewals and automated underwriting.
The system was developed with ease-of-connectivity being a key attribute. There is an interface layer which allows for easy development and maintenance of advanced Application Programming Interfaces (API's) to facilitate the real time data exchange with Broker Management Systems. This explains why SGI was one of the first Insurance Companies to participate in the real time data exchange.
