​The Art of Pay

It is not  a coincidence with the similarity of names! A significant component of every integration project is in the integration of payments being paid out and payments being received.  Payments are the foundation of the insurance relationship with Brokers and the most frequent policyholder touchpoint. The corresponding Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable that precede these payments needs to be integrated with the line-of-business applications and also with the General Ledger system. This is an art which the art of integration and the art of pay understand very well.

MY Integration teams vision is now fully endorsed across Canada and is a part of the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) strategic plan. Every broker association across Canada, 17 insurance companies and all of the Broker Management Systems (BMS) vendors in Canada have endorsed this vision, the methodology and the standards required to make it a reality.  All of these providers have software and resources which can be leveraged to deliver the next project for the next customer.  An agreement is in place to share the intellectual property as it benefits the entire industry.

Rather than having an internal Finance department we have a committed partnership with Davidson Financial.  They are fully committed to helping our business succeed by performing the critical accounting functions that keep us financially solvent and compliant with financial regulations.

Davidson's associates consist of financial managers, analysts, payroll specialists, certified distinguished financial advisors (DFA) and CPAs. They are well known for providing top-notch accounting support to our business clients.

Carla is the Chief Financial Officer for all projects aligned under Anderson & Associates.  In  addition to Carla's Financial background she is also a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP).  At the foundation of all integrated enterprise systems is a sound financial system.  A sound financial system starts by doing the correct accounting at the time the transaction occurs.  Carla and her team understand this as well as anyone in the Industry.
Before attempting to automate anything one must first understand the business you are trying to automate.  Carla and her team provide invaluable assistance to AOI associates as they design new financial systems.  Every new digital system will have a requirement for automated real-time accounting at the point of sale with transparent audit trails and pervasive balancing built into the automated system.

One of the educational program area at Sask Polytech is known as Business Information Systems.  This program is within the Information technology Industry, but the premise of this program is that you need to understand the business before you attempt to program anything for the business. This very much aligns with the Art of Integration so we are investing in this program as we sit on a committee that ensures the curriculum is in alignment with the needs of the business community.
